New Airline Routes and Cancelled Routes Through Fall, Winter and Beyond

Plan your fall/winter 2025 and and spring/summer 2026 travel now, including these new routes between US cities and popular destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and South America, with dozens of new flights a week – plus updates to frequent flyer programs and partnerships.  And be aware of routes which have been cancelled.  We have both.

New and cancelled routes include such top domestic airlines as Delta, JetBlue and United, partners Air France and Finnair, and low-cost carriers such as Porter, Condor and Neos.

Here are all the flights you need to know about – in alphabetical order, since that’s the only fair way. Domestic US airlines first, then international foreign-flag airlines.

Note – We update and republish this list as more new flights and destinations are announced – and when route cancellations are announced.

Avelo Airlines – First International Routes

The budget airline marks a major milestone by launching its first international routes.

Avelo also is introducing  six new routes at BDL: North Carolina’s Charlotte / Concord (USA) and Wilmington (ILM), Florida’s Daytona Beach (DAB) and Orlando / Lakeland (LAL), Houston via Hobby (HOU).

Also, starting June 11, 2025, Avelo is adding new non-stop service  between Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), with flights twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Delta Air Lines:  More Flights to Dublin, Munich, Asia, Caribbean

Delta has resumed and expanded service to Dublin with new direct flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul.  This route is served five times a week by Boeing 767-300s.

Experience the scenic Bavarian countryside with a new route to Munich, adding to services from Atlanta and Detroit, along with JFK.

  • Personal experience note – My Delta flight in June 2024 to and from Munich was not on Delta because Delta booked me outbound on partner KLM, through Amsterdam, and back on partner Air France, through Paris.  It was not my choice, it was Delta’s, which didn’t inform me until shortly before departure, and I had no choice except cancel or change my flights, fora whopping additional cost.  Luckily, both KLM and Air France are excellent airlines with matching customer experience.

Delta also  intrroduced new routes to Naples and Catania, Sicily from JFK in May, alongside existing services to Milan, Venice, and Rome.

The map explains it all  –

Delta also is introducing  a new daily route between Seattle/Tacoma and Tapei, Taiwan.

Delta has resumed its  Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai Pu Dong (PVG) route, which was  suspended during the pandemic. The Los Angeles-Shanghai route is expected to operate three times weekly, pending government approval, and will be served by Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Starting November 19, 2025, Delta  significantly expands its service to Buenos Aires with a second daily frequency between Atlanta and the Argentine capital:

  • Three weekly flights from November 19 to December 9
  • Daily service during peak summer season (December 10 to January 18, 2026)
  • Return to three weekly flights from January 19 to March 28, 2026

Starting June 8, 2026, Delta will further expand its Asia network with the launch of daily nonstop service between Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  The addition of the HKG-LAX service also strengthens the Delta–Korean Air Joint Venture partnership, further expanding travel options across the Pacific.

Cancelled Routes

In January 2026, Delta will discontinue its flights between Las Vegas and two Northern California cities: San José and Sacramento, because of reduced demand.

Frontier Airlines – New Flights from Atlanta

The discount carrier added nine new destinations from Atlanta, the busiest airport in the country, beginning in late May and early June, including three flights weekly to San Pedro Sula (SAP) in Honduras.

San Pedro Sula is Honduras’ main transportation hub in the northwest of the country, serving as a gateway to places like Copan with its Mayan archaeological site, the beaches of Tela on the Caribbean coast, and Roatan, which is known for its scuba diving around the Mesoamerican Reef.

Frontier will also begin flights to Aruba (AUA) weekly from Atlanta after a pause in that route.

On the domestic front, there are new routes connecting Atlanta to Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Ft. Myers, St. Louis, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, and Columbus, Ohio.

JetBlue: New Routes to Caribbean, South America

First – a loyalty club update-

JetBlue’s loyalty partnership with TAP Air Portugal ends on Sept. 30,2025.  That is the last date you can book TAP Air Portugal flights to earn or redeem TrueBlue points.  The deadline to travel and submit any requests for retroactive TrueBlue points must also be completed on or before 9/30/25.

This does not impact the codeshare partnership, which includes forwarding your luggage between airlines – only the ability to earn miles.

JetBlue has introduced a daily Mint service from JFK to San Juan. The Mint offers lie-flat seats and upscale dining options, although it is not clear why anybody needs lie-flat seats on a four-hour flight.

The airline also has  increased service to Puerto Rico, with six new routes to San Juan.  They are Providence, RI; Westchester County, NY; Santiago, Dominican Republic; Medellin, Colombia; and Cancun, Mexico, with varying frequencies.
