Just in time for summer and fall travel, Condor Airlines, Germany’s leisure airline, has expanded its schedule between Frankfurt and several US cities.
Condor, which has been serving the American market since the 1970s, first as a charter airline, offers new, non-stop Frankfurt (FRA) routes from New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). This is in addition to Condor’s return to Portland (PDX), Phoenix (PHX), Minneapolis (MSP) and Baltimore/Washington, D.C. (BWI).
Earlier in 2022, Condor reinstated non-stop Frankfurt flights from Seattle (SEA), Las Vegas (LAS), Anchorage (ANC) and Fairbanks (FAI) after cutting the routes during the pandemic, and it adds up to Condor’s largest U.S. summer schedule in the company’s history.
Most flights to and from Frankfurt are with Boeing 767-300 equipment and feature three classes of service (economy, premium and business). An Airbus A330-200 will be operated on some routes.
Here’s the Condor Airlines schedule:
- New York (JFK), five times a week, starting May 6
- Portland (PDX), three times a week, starting May 13
- San Francisco (SFO), three times a week, starting May 19
- Phoenix (PHX), three times a week, starting May 21
- Boston (BOS), three times a week, starting May 23
- Los Angeles (LAX), three times a week, starting May 24
- Minneapolis (MSP), three times a week, starting May 27
- Baltimore/Washington, D.C. (BWI), three times a week, starting June 4

Condor also is making headlines for its dramatically-painted planes, in various candy stripe colors. The new paint format was introduced in April 2022, and says the candy-stripe colours are meant to evoke images of “parasols, bath towels and beach chairs”.
Frankfurt is Germany’s largest airport, and one of the largest in Europe. Lufthansa, Delta and Singapore Airlines also serve US-Frankfurt routes with competitive pricing.
From its Frankfurt hub, Condor offers connecting service to more than 100 destinations throughout Europe via Condor and a network of airline and rail partners, including Lufthansa, SAS, Aegean Airlines to Greece and South African Airways to South Africa and neighboring Namibia.
U.S. travelers can take advantage of Condor’s interline partner Alaska Air and its U.S. network of feeder flights to Condor’s gateway cities.

Save Money with Condor Airlines
Regular coach sets on Condor are about $100 less than on Lufthansa or Delta on dates I checked for June, July and August 2022.
There are much bigger savings with business class and premium economy products, with fares up to 50 percent less than other airlines.
Business class features lie-flat seats, a personal in-seat, touch-screen entertainment system, power ports at every seat and five-course meals with complimentary beverages, including wine and beer.
Passengers also have access to priority check-in and lounge access.
Premium class features seats with added legroom, leg rests and adjustable headrests, an in-flight, in-seat entertainment system with an extended program, USB ports at every seat, and premium meals and beverages.
“Due to the pandemic, travel to Europe from the U.S. was only accessible to a limited extent for the past two summers,” said Mathias Friess, vice president and area manager, North America for Condor, told the travel trade publication Insider Travel Report.
“As a result, we are seeing an unpresented amount of pent-up demand from Americans who are now eager to visit Europe. We are pleased to offer Germany’s most popular, affordable and award-winning service to more Americans this summer with our expanded route network, including some of the most significant trans-Atlantic gateways of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, along with secondary and under-served cities across the U.S.”
