Every year there are special Veterans Day discounts and deals for current and retired military at retail store chains, hotels, museums and more, including free admission extended to family members.

Here is the 2024 list – retail first, including groceries, then travel and recreation.

Unless otherwise noted, these deals and discounts are only on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024. Some discounts also apply to family members.

2024 Veterans Day Retail Discounts

4Patriots — Veterans and active-duty military can get its best-selling $29 72-Hour Survival Food Kit for free. Available only by registering on the 4Patriots Veterans Day Celebration Event page on November 11 only.

AARP — Join for only $9 per year with a 5-year term and save up to 43% off. Or join for 1 year for just $12 and save 25% off the standard annual rate.

Academy Sports + Outdoors — October 20 to November 11 – Active-duty service members and veterans get 10% off the entire purchase online or in-store.

Amazon — 20% discount on select items for Veterans Day, no military ID required.

Army & Air Force Exchange Service — Various deals, including 10 cents off every gallon of gas at fuel locations. Plus, Exchange stores will be handing out free challenge coins to veterans.

Ashley Stewart — November 1-11 – Get an additional 20% off your entire purchase. Cannot be combined with other offers.

AutoNation — November 11-16 – Military personnel, veterans and their spouses get a 20% discount on all services in-store at branded locations nationwide via AutoNation Mobile Service.

Brides Across America — Brides Across America holds a wedding gown giveaway for military in partnership with bridal salons across the country in November. Qualifying brides register to attend the event at a participating bridal salon by completing the registration form. There is a $99 tax-deductible donation required when registering for the event. DEVIL-DOG Dungarees — October 27 to November 11 – Active duty, retirees, veterans, military spouses and military family members get 50% off the entire website.

Food Lion — Active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families get a 10% discount by presenting their MVP card and military identification at checkout. Purchases of pharmacy, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, lottery, pharmacy, postage stamps and services do not count toward the discount. Valid only for in-store purchases.

Grace for Vets — Car washes from around the world who join this program offer free car washes to veterans and service members

Great Clips – Veterans and active military service members can go to any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a card for a free haircut that can be redeemed during a future visit.

Jacksons Car Wash — November 9-11 – Veterans and active-duty military get a free full service ($21.99) or Express ($20) car wash. .

Midas — November 1 to November 30 – Active-duty military and veterans get a coupon valid for 15% off tire and auto repair services at participating shops.

Office Depot and OfficeMax — November 9-11 – Veterans, active duty and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents receive 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide. Shoppers must present a valid military ID, military dependent ID or form of veteran ID at purchase.

Publix — Veterans and active military personnel get 10% off on groceries, This offer excludes prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, lottery tickets, postage stamps, and money services. Valid for in-store purchases only.

Raceway Car Wash — Veterans and active-duty military get a free express car wash.

Rack Room Shoes — Military personnel and their dependents get a 20% discount off their entire purchase in store.

Regal — In partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, the movie chain is offering complimentary tickets to retired and active U.S. armed service members to attend two contemporary military film screenings — Lonesome Soldier and The Real American — at participating locations. Regal moviegoers who have not served may also attend these special patriotic screenings for a $5 admission.

Renewal by Andersen Windows — Military discount of $400 off per window and $850 off per door, plus an extra $300 off total purchase.

Russell Speeder’s Car Wash — November 9-11 – Free car washes to all veterans and active-duty military personnel.

Sleep Number — November 1-11 – Active, veteran, retired and reservist personnel get an additional 10% off your entire purchase.

Soapy Joe’s Car Wash — Veterans, active-duty military and spouses get a free car wash. Complete the coupon form first to get the deal.

Sport Clips — Participating locations will provide free haircuts to veterans and active-duty service members as well as donate $2 for every paid haircut service provided on that day.

Target — October 27 through November 11 – 10% military discount to all active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families. The discount can be used on two separate transactions, in store or online.

TOPS — 11% discount off of a total order to all veterans and active military personnel who shop at any location.

Tractor Supply Company — Active-duty military and veterans receive a 10% discount. Complete the Hometown Heroes verification process through Neighbor’s Club to receive the discount.

Vitamin Shoppe — Veterans and active-duty military receive 25% off, in-store only.

Walgreens — November 8 to 11 – Veterans, military and their families will receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide. Restrictions may apply.

Waters Carwash — November 9 to 11 – Free car washes to all veterans and active-duty military personnel.

WhiteWater Express Car Wash — Veterans with a valid ID receive a free Ceramic car wash.

ZIPS Car Wash — Veterans and active-duty military receive their best car wash for free. Use wash code 1124 at participating ZIPS Car Wash, Jet Brite Car Wash and Rocket Express Car Wash locations

2024 Veterans Day Discounts & Freebies – Travel & Recreation

National Parks — On November 11, get free admission to all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee.

Again, unless otherwise specified, deals are only on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024. Many of these discounts and freebies include immediate family.

Alphabetically, again, the only fair way.

9/11 Memorial and Museum — Throughout Salute to Service — November 7 through 11 — active and retired U.S. military, veterans, Blue & Gold Star families get free admission.

Akron Zoo — Veterans receive free admission with a valid military ID, and immediate family members receive 50% off admission.

Aquarium of the Pacific — Veterans and active-duty military personnel get free admission.

Arizona State Parks — Veterans, active-duty military, and National Guard service members get free entrance.

Beaches Resorts — November 1 to 16 – Active and retired military members, including the Reserve and the National Guard, get a 15% discount on top of all special promotions.

Boardwalk Inn & Suites — November 1 through 30 – Book your stay and receive 35% off for travel anytime through December 2025.

Capital Wheel — Active and retired military can experience The Capital Wheel for free with a valid military ID.

Cincinnati Zoo — All members of the military will receive free admission. The offer also allows military personnel to purchase up to six half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family.

Colonial Williamsburg — Free admission November 8 through 11 to active-duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, National Guardsmen and their immediate dependents.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum — Active-duty and retired military get free admission on November 11. The Museum will also extend free admission for up to three immediate family members.

Diplomat Beach Resort — Active, reserve, and retired service members and their families receive special discounted stay and a welcome bag upon arrival, filled with local favorites like Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi tickets, in-house pastries, a branded water bottle, and discounts of 20% off Kids’ Club services and 25% off poolside cabanas. Offer valid for stays from November 1 to November 30.

Durham Museum — Veterans and their immediate family enjoy complimentary admission all weekend long in observance of Veterans Day. Veterans can also enjoy a free hot dog meal at the Soda Fountain both days.

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden — Veterans get complimentary general admission on November 9 from 9am to 4pm.

Hagley Museum and Library — Current military members, veterans, and their families get free admission on November 9.

Harley-Davidson Museum — From November 9 to 11, all active-duty military, veterans, and their families can enjoy complimentary admission. And on Veterans Day (November 11), veterans and active military personnel can enjoy one complimentary meal at MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant (up to $12.95 with the purchase of a beverage).

Killington Resort — Active-duty, retired and honorably discharged members of the military receive a free lift ticket on November 11.

Note – Killington is part of the Epic Pass system, which offers a reduced rate season pass for military.

Knott’s Berry Farm — Active-duty military and veterans receive discounted admission for themselves and up to 5 guests during Military Tribute Days, November 4 through 21 and December 2 through 12. Tickets can be purchased online or at on-site ticket booths.

La Quinta by Wyndham — Eligible military members enjoy 12% off Best Available Rate at participating La Quinta by Wyndham hotels across the U.S and Canada. Plus, Wyndham Rewards members receive 1,000 bonus points for qualified stays booked by December 6 and completed by December 31, 2024.

Montgomery Zoo — Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their dependent family members receive a 50% discount on regular daytime admission to the Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum, November 10 through 16.

Monticello — Veterans get complimentary admission November 9 through 11.

Montpelier — Military service members and their families get a free one-day property pass to the grounds, as well as a free “Highlights of Montpelier” tour to service members on November 11 with a valid military ID.

Mount Vernon — All active-duty, former, or retired military personnel are admitted for free on November 11.

Nashville Zoo — Active-duty military personnel, veterans and their immediate families receive free admission on November 10.

Natural History Museum of Utah— From November 9 through 11, veterans plus one additional guest each get free admission. Veterans also receive 10% off any purchase made at the Museum Store.

National WWI Museum and Memorial — Admission is free for veterans and active-duty military personnel, November 8 through 11.

NEW Zoo & Adventure Park — Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their immediate families get free zoo admission on November 11.

North Carolina Zoo — Military personnel, veterans, and their spouses get free admission November 9 through 15. This includes free admission for up to three additional accompanying guests.

Northwest Trek Wildlife Park — Veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy the wonder of Northwest Trek for free November 9 through 11. Immediate family members receive half-off general admission. Visit the admission window. Offer is not valid on online purchases.

NY Waterway — Active-duty military and veterans ride the ferry for free.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium — Veterans and active-duty service members get free admission November 9 through 11. Immediate family members receive half-off general admission. Offer is valid at Zoo admission window but not valid on online purchases.

Pro Football Hall of Fame — Veterans plus one guest get free admission to the Veterans Day Event & Expo. A 20% off discount in the Hall of Fame Store will also be offered.

Queen Mary — Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families get free admission from 10 am to 6 pm.

Red Roof — Members of the military, veterans and their families receive 15% off their visit at any Red Roof Inn, Red Roof PLUS+, HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof or The Red Collection property when they book and stay from October 11 through November 14.

San Antonio Zoo — Throughout November, active-duty, retired, veteran members of the military, National Guard and Reserves get free admission. Plus, up to four immediate family members can receive 50% off single day tickets on date of visit.

Sandals Resorts — Through November 16, Sandals Resorts offers active and retired military members, including the Reserve and the National Guard, a 15% discount on top of all special promotions.

Sedgwick County Zoo — Active-duty military, veterans and their immediate families get complimentary Zoo admission.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom — Veterans and active-duty military personnel will be given complimentary park admission with valid military ID, November 9 through 11. Family and friends receive discounted admission (up to four). All redemptions take place at the front gate.

Super 8 by Wyndham — Eligible armed forces members can save 15% on Best Available Rate at participating Super 8 by Wyndham hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Plus, for a limited time, Wyndham Rewards members receive 1,000 bonus points for qualified stays booked by December 6 and completed by December 31, 2024.

Winchester Mystery House — Through December 31, veterans and their family members get 30% off for Winchester Mystery House Daily Estate Tour Tickets. Must buy at box office and show valid military ID.

Woodland Park Zoo — Active, retired, reserve, and veteran U.S. military personnel and one guest get free admission. In addition, up to six family members accompanying heroes with valid ID will receive $3 off admission on Veterans Day.

World of Coca-Cola — Military members can purchase up to 4 general admission tickets for 50% off for their friends and family November 1 to 11. Use promo code VETS2024 at check out. Military ID must be presented upon entry.
