This summer, get away to one of hundreds of historic hotels and B&Bs in the US at discount.

Members the Historic Hotels of America are offering discount packages that include historical tours, dining specials, kids eat free and more, at up to 30% off.  Plus, if you book before December 31, 2014 on the HistoricHotels website, you’ll receive a free one-year family membership worth $30 to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which comes with a  subscription to Preservation magazine, and discounted admission to more than 600 historic places worldwide.

West Baden Springs Hotel (1902) French Lick, Indiana: Summer is a great time to experience this architectural marvel that is West Baden Springs Hotel. Book the Historic Experience Two-Night Package and get a taste of history along with one Historic Landmarks tour per person (up to 2 per room, and one West Baden Springs Hotel souvenir snow globe per room.  Rates from $199 per night midweek in June and July.

Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa (1865) Whitefield, New Hampshire: Experience the spectacular White Mountains at this AAA Four Diamond resort in New Hampshire. Bed and Breakfast Package includes full breakfast each morning. Rates from $189 per night midweek in June and July

Lord Baltimore Hotel (1928) Baltimore, Maryland: This local landmark has just completed a major renovation, which included all guestrooms and public spaces. Visit the Inner Harbor or go to an Orioles game this summer at the nearby Camden Yards. History Past and Present Package includes two tickets to Babe Ruth Museum featuring “O” Say Can You See: The Star Spangled Banner in Sports Exhibit,  two adult water taxi passes to Ft. Green Park Inn (1891) Blowing Rock, North Carolina: This is the second oldest operating resort hotel in the state, and the last of the grand “manor hotels” in western North Carolina. Blowing Rock has a variety of summer activities including art festivals, food, and wine festivals. The Art and History Package includes a historic tour of the hotel, tickets to The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum, 10% dinner discount at the Chestnut Grill, 50% off additional nights. Rates from $119 per night midweek in July.

The Chanler at Cliff Walk (1873) Newport, Rhode Island: This is the first mansion and only hotel located on Newport, Rhode Island’s famous Cliff Walk, with a dramatic location close to the millionaire mansions built by Rockefellers, Vanderbilts and others in the early 1900s.  The Memorable Milestones Package includes full breakfast each morning in The Veranda with Mimosas for two and one three-course dinner for two in the Spiced Pear. Rates from $419 per night midweek in June and July.

Grand Hotel (1887) Mackinac Island, Michigan: Enjoy a relaxing car-free ambiance where the pace is slower and horse-drawn carriages and bicycles are the preferred modes of transportation. The Pure Michigan Package includes a five-course dinner and full breakfast,  golf greens fees (cart fee required), and free admission for two to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum. The Napa River Inn (1901) Napa, California: This upscale boutique hotel is centrally located on the wine trail for seasonal wine tastings. The Bishop’s Lodge Resort & Spa (1918) Santa Fe, New Mexico: Luxurious accommodations near art galleries and the Georgia O’Keefe Museum.  The Spa Discovery Package includes a $100 credit per stay towards a custom massage or facial. Rates from $249 per night midweek in June and July.

The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club (1925) St. Petersburg, Florida: The only luxury resort on Florida’s west coast, with a private 74-slip marina, a 12-court tennis complex, five restaurants, a 5,000-square-foot fitness center, 361 recently renovated guestrooms and a shuttle to St. Pete Beach. The Kids Eat Free Package includes free meals for up to four children. Rates from $239 midweek in June and July.

Omni Mount Washington Resort, Bretton Woods (1902) Bretton Woods, New Hampshire:  Enjoy a vast array of recreational and leisure activities both indoors and out, from its Prohibition-era speakeasy, The Cave, to its acres of wooded National Forest. The Dive into Summer Package includes a $100 cuisine & cocktail credit,  Omni Sensational Kids backpack filled with fun items, milk & cookies on your first night.  Rates from $249 midweek in June and July.

1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa (1886) Eureka Springs, Arkansas: Discover why this hotel is known as “America’s Most Haunted Hotel. The Spirit of the Crescent Package includes daily full breakfast for two  in the Crystal Dining Room, two tickets to a Ghost Tour per stay. Rates from $247 per night midweek in June and July.
