Swiss trains are famous for running on time, including through the mountains and valleys of the equally famous Swiss Alps. Now, some of those trains are powered by solar panels deployed along the railway tracks.

Switzerland is building a gi-normous solar installation – the size of 35 football fields – to produce electricity for up to 15,000 homes. The solar project is to be built around the Bern Airport.
