Squaw Valley, home of the 1960 Winter Olympics, is no more. Its new name is Palisades Tahoe, and it newly incorporates the adjoining ski/snowboard resort, which is no longer known as Alpine Meadows. The National Park Service has added more than a dozen new sites across the USA into the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program. Historic Windsor Castle and the town around it are a great place to visit, for the Changing of the Guard, walking paths and gardens. The tour of the interior, including State Apartments, takes 2-3 hours. Windsor is about one hour from London by train, an easy day-trip.
It’s a good sign that airlines are adding new routes for spring, summer and fall 2021. It’s a sign that we are eager to get back to traveling, and that airlines are ready to serve our travel itch.
