Nissan Raising Funds for National Parks

national parks fund-raiserHelp preserve and protect America’s national parks, which took a beating during the recent US government shutdown.

Nissan is Calling All TITANs to join in helping the National Park Foundation restore America’s most treasured landscapes.

Through Feb. 8, Nissan will match any donation to the National Park Foundation, 2-for-1, up to a total of $200,000.

So your donation of $50 becomes $150, and so on.  This is a good deal.

You may have read about overflowing trashcans and toilets, plus some horrifying vandalism.  Many experts predict – sadly – it will take years, even decades for our national parks to recover.

Read this National Geographic article if you don’t believe me.

Each donation to the Nissan national parks fund-raising campaign will help the National Park Foundation protect and preserve America’s national parks, and help undo the recent damage.

To donate now please visit nationalparks.org/titan.

ecoXplorer applauds Nissan for doing this.  You are a titan of a car and truck company!

Volunteer to help the parks

The non-profit National Park Foundation is encouraging park and history lovers to learn about volunteer opportunities.  Many parks have independent “Friends” or “Conservancy” groups which coordinate local volunteers.

Activities can range from trail maintenance to cleaning bathrooms.

You get paid back for your efforts with a FREE Volunteer Pass for entrance to all national park and federal recreation lands.
