From December 7 through December 13, 2024, kids get up to seven free lift tickets at 15 of Alterra Mountain Company’s North American mountain destinations to use during the new Kids Ski Free Week.
The kids ski free deal is open to anybody, whether or not you have a multi-resort season pass or a resort-specific pass.
Kids up to age six ski free all season at several Utah resorts not affiliated with Alterra.
Also note that the Ikon Pass, good at more than 60 destinations in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan can be purchased through Dec. 12 only.
Participating destinations for Kids Ski Free Week include:
- Steamboat and Winter Park in Colorado;
- Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, and Snow Valley in California;
- Stratton and Sugarbush Resort in Vermont;
- Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia;
- Crystal Mountain in Washington; Schweitzer in Idaho;
- Deer Valley Resort and Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah;
- Tremblant in Quebec and Blue Mountain (subject to opening date) in Ontario, Canada.
Kids 12 and under (17 and under at Stratton and Schweitzer) may receive a free lift ticket each day to use from December 7 through 13 at any participating destination. Each destination may offer a variety of other promotions and specials for families.

Kids Ski Free All Season at these Utah Resorts
Get the kids or the grands on the slopes when they are young, and they’ll be skiers or boarders for life.
Here’s where they can play in the snow for FREE all season in Utah –
- Snowbasin Resort – Kids age four and under
- Snowbird – Kids age six and under, daytime only
- Solitude Mountain Resort – Kids age four and under
- Sundance Mountain Resort – Kids age five and under
Utah also offers a special Passport Program for 4th, 5th and 6th graders for just $89, valid at each one of the state’s 15 downhill resorts.
It’s for any student, not just Utah residents, so if you are visiting with your kids or grands, this is a great deal. It offers three days of skiing at each resort. That’s up to 45 days of downhill fun for $89.
