Like most of you I’m already looking forward to the 2025/26 skiing and snowboarding season. There are changes to multi-resort passes, and new lifts and terrain on the horizon. Here’s what we know now.

Like most of you I’m already looking forward to the 2025/26 skiing and snowboarding season. There are changes to multi-resort passes, and new lifts and terrain on the horizon. Here’s what we know now.
The current ski/snowboard season is still underway, but passes for next season are on sale now at the lowest prices of the year. There are big changes changes to the Ikon Pass for to this pass next season, with new resorts added, one leaving, and the end of the Base Pass Plus, plus price increases. Here are the details.
Once again, well before the end of the current ski/snowboard season, Vail Resorts is selling its Epic Pass for next season, with the best rates of the year to ski/snowboard at more than 50 downhill destinations in the US, Canada and Europe. Prices are up around 6% for all pass types.
From December 7 through December 13, 2024, kids will get up to seven free lift tickets at 15 of Alterra Mountain Company’s North American mountain destinations to use during the new Kids Ski Free Week.
If you haven’t already purchased your Ikon Pass for the 2024/25 ski/snowboard season now underway, do it now before sales end on Dec. 17. Don’t wait until the last minute, when the website can be jammed and there’s a day-long wait for a live person on the 800 number. With a season pass, the price per day decreases the more days you ski or ride, up to seven days at each participating resort, and the pass offers additional perks, including 20% off group ski and ride school lessons, on-mountain food and beverage, lodging, equipment rentals, and more.
