Breeze Airways offers $1 upgrades

Low-fare airline Breeze Airways is offering a special $1 deal for a bundle of additional perks, including a first-class seat and a second checked bag.

The promotion is called Nicest, and applies for tickets purchased now for travel between Sept. 7, 2022 through February 14, 2023.

The Nicest bundle also includes priority boarding, 6 percent BreezePoints earned and a complimentary snack and beverage – including alcoholic drinks.  All for $1 above the price of a a regular ticket.

The deal includes nonstop flights on Breeze Airways brand-new Airbus A220 aircraft, which features up to 36 recliner-style seats with footrest, 39 inches of seat pitch, and USB/C power outlets.

The premium seats are included as part of the Nicest bundle, but can be purchased a la carte with Nice class and Nicer.

Breeze “Nice” fares are comparable to basic economy on non-budget major airlines, which do not include any free checked bags or reserved seats before 24-hours in advance.

The Breeze “Nicer” fare option includes one free checked bag.

Under either fair option, Nice or Nicer, you may check up to three bags via the Breeze website or app, for $29 each.  If you check that bag in-person at the airport, it’s $50.

So the $1 upgrade to Nicest – which provides one free bag – is a savings of at least $28.

“Our new A220s are beautiful, spacious and fuel efficient, allowing us to provide a ‘Seriously Nice’ experience no matter what bundle they purchase.,” said Tom Doxey, Breeze’s president, in a press release.

“Buying a low fare doesn’t have to mean sacrificing comfort and with this $1 Nicest promotion, Breeze is changing the game with affordable, nonstop flights from underserved markets including transcontinental routes.”

Breeze’s business model, which focuses on providing fast, efficient and affordable air service between underserved city pairs, has led the airline to continue to expand across the U.S. using mid-sized aircraft, such as the A220-300.

Breeze does not  charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes prior to departure, and offers other benefits such as free family seating and a la carte pricing and upgrades including premium seating options.

Nicest Fare Promotion Rules

The $1 Nicest promotion is  available only on non-stop Airbus A220 routes, and only when booking a new reservation.

Supply is limited and no advance purchase requirement applies.

The promotion is only valid for travel from Sept. 7, 2022 through Feb. 14, 2023. Price displayed includes taxes & government fees.  Other restrictions and blackout dates may apply.

Breeze Airways was created by the JetBlue founder, David Neeleman.

Breeze is Neeleman’s fifth airline start-up.  After JetBlue, Neeleman founded  Brazil-based Azul, Canada-based WestJet and Utah-based Morris Air (which since has been purchased by Southwest Airlines). Breeze Airways is headquartered in Salt Lake City.
