Travel Deals to Buy Now and Use Later

travel deals to buy now and use later

Got a travel itch? We all do, and even if you aren’t ready to leave this minute, there are travel deals to buy now and use later, including through 2022.

Simply, the travel industry is hurting, and there are some exceptional values to take advantage of now.

Here’s what some cruise lines, hotels and tour operators are offering:

Holland America Line Save Now Cruise Later Deal

HAL calls it the Have it All Sale, which includes up to $2,300 in extras when you book a cruise departing later this year through 2022, including:.

  • FREE Drinks
  • FREE Gratuities
  • FREE Signature Dining Package
  • FREE Wi-Fi for Suites
  • 50% Reduced Deposits

PLUS, if you choose a non-refundable deposit, you get  a discounted cruise fare.

The discounts apply to Holland America Line destinations including the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, South America, Alaska and Hawaii.

  • ecoXplorer tip: We love HAL’s private island in the Caribbean, Half Moon Cay. It’s accessible only to passengers and crew, so there’s a safety component.  It’s also great fun – a day at the beach in the middle of a cruise.

The upscale hotel chain has launched a worldwide campaign entitled “Make A Travel Promise,” that includes an upgrade to the next higher room category, a bottle of sparkling wine, breakfast, a 25 percent discount at restaurants and bars, as well as flexible arrival and departure times.

The travel deal can be booked until June 10, 2020, for stays through the end of March 2021 at any Kempinski hotel around the globe.

Kempinski hotels also have set up a Staycation program for residents overseas who may not wish to travel, but would like a change of scenery in a nearby hotel.

We think it’s a great idea – and hoping Kempinski will expand that to North America.

Kempinski Hotels currently operates 76 five-star hotels and residences in 31 countries, including Cuba, Thailand, Israel and Germany, where the chain is based.

“Hopefully, in the coming months, global travel will recover step by step, and our guests and potential customers will gradually regain confidence in traveling and booking weekends or holidays at one of our luxury hotels again, ” said Amanda Elder, member of the management board of Kempinski Hotels, in a statement to the travel trade publication Travel Insider Report.

The great travel deal here is that solo travelers do not pay extra, and trips are always guided by a local expert, who could be a retired professor of geology or astronomy, or a local environmentalist.

I’ve been on several skiing trips with them, and it’s always an interesting group.

Book now for trips in 2021 to Costa Rica, the Seychelles, Egypt and Greece, a writing workshop in the Adirondaks, and more.

There are adults-only trips and special multi-generation trips for grandparents and grandkids, without the generation in between.

Check out these Road Scholar special offers.

Invest in Trip Insurance

Deal or no deal, always protect yourself with travel insurance.  Never leave home without it.

Club Med

The all-inclusive chain wants to make sure you feel extra safe when booking.

Cancel your stay up to 15 days prior to departure for stays through 2020 and receive a full refund, no questions asked.
