Sometimes, green travel means saving the green in your wallet.  Here are some deals, discounts and other special offers  will help stretch your travel budget early in 2011–

$20.11 hotel room at Red Roof Hotels — Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Red Roof is offering all guests its nicest price ever with a  $20.11 rate nationwide on January 2, 2011.  Book now to get this great price.  Use VP+ code 608790 by phone or online to obtain this special rate, which does not apply to walk-ins.

Third night free in NYC — Take a bite out of the cost of a New York City vacation with the annual third night free hotel promotion.  More than one dozen top NYC hotels are participating, including the new Setai on Fifth Avenue, the Mandarin Oriental in Columbus Circle and two Ritz-Carlton hotels, one near Wall St. the other on Central Park South.  Book two consecutive nights between January 2nd and March 7th, 2011, and the third night is on the house.

Third night free at Marriott Hotels — Everybody likes something free, and beginning February 1, 2011, Marriott Rewards is giving away free nights with its MegaBonus promotion.  Earn one free night with every paid two-night stay.  You have to be a Marriott Rewards member to get this third night free deal, which is valid for travel through September 30, 2011.  In addition to Marriott brand hotels, the company also operates hotels and motels in all price ranges, including  Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance Hotels, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites and SpringHill Suites.  The third night free deal is good at all of these Marriott brands.

Hilton hotels offer more free nights — Hilton Worldwide is reducing the number of reward points needed for a free night. Through June 30, 2011, you’ll need 40% fewer points at 1,800 participating hotels worldwide, through the company’s Point Stretcher promotion. The deal is good at all Hilton brands in all price ranges, from the upscale Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Doubletree to the budget-priced Embassy Suites and Hampton Hotels.  Of course, you have to be a member of the frequent stay program, called HHonors, and, of course, membership is free.

Stretch your travel budget with these deals.
