This is the 81st anniversary of the start of the Nuclear Age – the only time an atomic bomb has been used in warfare, and a good time to reflect on the worldwide danger. There are several places in Hiroshima and Nagasaki which memorialize their destruction, the fortitude of the Japanese people to rebuild their cities and their lives and hope for the future in a world without nuclear war.
Food is becoming an increasingly important part of the travel experience. New data shows restaurants are influencing where travelers go, where they stay and how they plan, with 61% of Americans having chosen a destination because of its food or restaurant scene. And I would add the craft beer scene and wineries and wine tours.
