2013 Nissan Sentra, best cars under $16,000With a base price of $15,900, the all-new 2013 Nissan Sentra is a great choice for first-time buyers, college students, frugal boomers and retirees, and anybody else who wants an affordable, fuel efficient car that’s fun to drive and looks good in the driveway.

The redesigned Sentra  offers such high-end details  as LED-accented headlights and taillights, and an efficient new 1.8 liter four cylinder engine. It’s also rated with a best-in-class combined fuel economy of 34 MPG. Trim models with the next generation Xtronic CVT do even better, getting 40 mpg on the highway and more than 400 miles of driving range.

This is the seventh generation Nissan Sentra,  lighter than its predecessors for more fuel economy, and with more rear seat legroom than past generations.

Sentra’s sophisticated new look includes a high-quality interior design with materials not usually found in compact vehicles in this price range, including soft-touch instrument panel and front door armrests, available leather-appointed seating and available Maple wood-tone trim.

Even fully loaded with all the bells and whistles, the Sentra is under $20,000. Available technology includes NissanConnect with navigation with hands-free text messaging Assistant, Pandora radio capability, streaming audio via Bluetooth a large 5.8-inch touch-screen display, and a rearview monitor.
