AMC Theatres $5 Movie Tickets on Tuesdays

See movies on the cheap at any AMC Theatres location in the USA for just $5 plus tax on Tuesdays, including during the current awards season.

The AMC Discount Tuesdays $5 deal also applies to some theater concessions, such as the  “Cameo-size” popcorn and soft drink combo.

To get the deal you must be a member of the AMC Stubs discount program, which is FREE to join.

That’s the good news – here’s the bad –

Starting July 2025, AMC is increasing the number of ads and trailers before the movie to as long as 30 minutes.  According to CNN Business, the extra revenue from the additional ads will help keep ticket prices “stable” – and hopefully allow discount deals like $5 Tuesdays to continue.

Join AMC Stubs for Free

Join AMC Stubs to see any available showtimes at the discounted rate, including for tickets purchased in advance from such third-party sites as Fandango.

Additional fees apply for premium experiences like IMAX and Dolby Cinema, but AMC has set the base fee at $5 for those options, applicable on Discount Tuesdays.

That means you can see an IMAX presentation for just $10 on Discount Tuesdays.

As with any great deal, there are rules:

Additional fees apply for premium experiences like IMAX and Dolby Cinema at AMC, but the company said it has set the base fee at $5 for those options, applicable on Discount Tuesdays.

The movies on the cheap deal  also can’t be used in select instances such as private screenings, movie marathons or other fan events

The discount applies regardless of your tier under the AMC Stubs program, including its A-List program that costs $15 a year to join, and Stubs Insider, which allows moviegoers to utilize the Tuesday promotion, get free refills with a large popcorn purchases, and earn points for a $5 reward.

To get the Discount Tuesdays cheap movie tickets deal, moviegoers must present a virtual or physical card, account number or email address when buying the tickets, including through such third-party sites as Fandango.

When buying the $5 discount tickets online or in a mobile app, users must be signed in to their accounts before checkout.

Find your preferred nearby AMC Theater location via the chain’s website.

The company also offers $5 movies daily with a selection of Fan Faves

“Discount Tuesday at AMC was a favorite among moviegoers prior to the pandemic,” Eliot Hamlisch, AMC’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a news release.

This article was published originally in Sept. 2022 and updated for the current Discount Tuesdays offer.
