Along with an exclusive color and other features, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition is a tough-as-nails tricked-out off-roader able to launch Zero-60 in 3.5 seconds.
And expensive – at $149,995, its nearly double the price of the regular production model.
Do you really need to spend nearly $70,000 extra for special blue paint inspired by the night sky, blacked-out accents, special badging and a few other features, like a tailgate speaker?
That’s more than enough to pay for a whole other EV, like the award-winning Hyundai Ioniq 6, even one of the new Mercedes-Benz EVs.
The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV starts at $84,650 for the EV2 trim, and tops out at over $100,000 for the tri-motor EV3X and Edition 1 models.
Since GM is struggling to produce enough Hummer SUVs to meet demand, you’ll need to join the waiting list for your next chance to order any trim of the Hummer EV SUV.
And there is no word from GM or GMC how much production of regular Hummer EV models will be diverted to this limited edition. Whatever it is, it will make the wait for a “regular” production model that much longer.
The Omega Edition is a limited run, available exclusively on the 2024 Hummer EV pick-up and SUV.
According to GMC, it is equally adept on both city streets and off-road trails – although I would enjoy the theater of watching its wide supertruck frame navigate double-parked cars on narrow streets in my hometown, New York City.
Sometimes, 18-wheelers do that, but they are professional drivers, not us “civilians” with $150,000 for a super-wide super truck.

GMC Hummer EV is Produced in the USA
The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup and 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV are built at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center — a nearly 40-year-old facility repurposed and retooled with a $2.2 billion investment devoted to EV production. Factory ZERO will also build the GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition .
