Best 2022 SUVs and Minivans for Families

It’s awards season – for films, music, even vehicles.

Here are the Best Family Cars of 2022, as determined by the experts at Kelley Blue Book, which has been determining vehicle value for decades.

The list includes SUVs and Minivans that hold appeal for roominess and flexibility for a growing family. Ratings are based on depth testing with a focus on safety, practicality and value, as well as increasingly useful connectivity, technology and driver-assist features, and even resale value.

Fortunately, the Kelley Blue Book editorial staff uses data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) to ensure recommended vehicles have top safety ratings.

Unfortunately, there is not a single EV, PHEV or Hybrid on the list, even though several of the winning models also are available as EV, PHEV or Hybrid models. With current gas prices at ridiculous levels, it is a serious oversight to ignore those eco-friendly, wallet-friendly models.
