It’s award season in the automotive industry, too. Which models will get the auto version of the Oscar at the upcoming New York International Auto Show?

Here are the contenders for the 2015 World Car of the Year awards, including some brands and models not sold in the USA.

Just like Hollywood’s Academy Awards, there are multiple categories, including one for the world’s best green car, and a grand winner.

A jury of seventy-five distinguished international automotive journalists selected finalists in the World Car of the Year, World Luxury Car and World Performance Car categories by secret ballot.

The 2015 World Car Awards are being announced at the New York International Auto Show on Thursday, April 2. Here are all the finalists, with finalists listed alphabetically in each category:
