Scam Alert: Jimmy John’s customers beware: your credit and debit cards are at risk.
Approximately 216 stores nationwide appear to have been affected by what the sandwich chain describes as “this event”.
Cards impacted by this data security breach seem to be only those swiped at the stores, not credit card numbers entered manually or online.
Your credit and debit card information at risk may include your card number along with your name, verification code, and/or the card’s expiration date.
Information entered online, such as customer address, e-mail, and password, remains secure.
There is virtually no mention of this serious data breach on the Jimmy John’s website, only a sentence in red that’s easy to miss saying no more and no less than “data security incident”.
Click on that, and it brings up the 216 owned and franchised Jimmy John’s locations where you are at risk for identity theft.
This is just the latest reason to avoid Jimmy John’s.
