Jackson Hole Tram

Get more snow for less dough with these three ski and snowboard resort deals:

Winter Park, Colorado – save 30% on lodging if you book by January 13, 2014 for stays through March 31.  Rates for base area lodging start at $97.  Winter Park is about one hour from Denver.  It is three mountains, the toughest of which is Mary Jane.  The long cruisers on on Vasquez Ridge.  I love Winter Park and have skied there many times.

Crested Butte, Colorado – Through April 6th, get a $100 airfare credit, up to 25% off room rates, and the fourth day and night FREE though March 4th when you book lodging through Crested Butte Vacations property management.  My favorite run at Crested Butte is the properly named Paradise Bowl.

Mammoth Mountain, California – Ski 20 days for $299 with the special mid-winter ski pass.  Purchase by January 15 and use any Monday-Friday through Feb. 7th.  The pass also includes lodging and equipment discounts.  Click here to ski or ride for as little as $15 a day.  My favorite run at Mammoth is the Face under Chair 22.  A true adrenalin rush.

January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard month and most resorts have special deals as low as $29 for equipment, lift and lesson.  Click here for more information.

Alpine Meadows, California -$49 Learn to Ski and Ride Special that includes a beginner lift ticket, equipment rentals and 2½ hour lesson and a savings of $90. The special deal will be offered for adults and kids (ages 8 and up) every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Alpine Meadows January 7-30. Visit www.skialpine.com for complete details.

What’s your favorite ski resort?
