Budget Travel Deals and Discounts for Spring Break and Beyond

Celebrate spring with these budget travel discounts and bargains to the Caribbean.  Some of these travel deals can be booked now for travel later this year, others are for spring only.

Barbados –Get one night free on a five-night stay, or two nights free on a seven-night stay, with the Take Me to Barbados promotion from the island’s official Visit Barbados tourism organization.  This travel deal includes free breakfast, and kids to age 16 eat free and stay free in rooms with two paying adults, at participating hotels.  Also, get a Barbados “value book” loaded with $150 in coupons to spend on dining, shopping or excursions.  This promo deal also gives you aone free car rental day on a minimum three-day rental.  Book by March 25 and travel between April 25th and December 15, 2011.

Also in Barbados, Book seven nights at Mango Bay Barbados and your eighth night is free.  You have to book by March 31st, but the one-night-free offer is good for travel through December 18, 2011, when the peak holiday travel season begins.  My recommendation is to go during the Bajan “Holders Season”, between March 19th and April 2nd, a festival of musical, comedy and theatrical performances.  The Mango Bay Barbados is an all-inclusive beachfront resort, which means you don’t need your wallet or credit card for meals or rum punches made with potent local rums, or use of kayaks, pedal boats and snorkleling gear.  Rates start at $535 per person, and include a trip into Bridgetown and a catamaran trip to snorkel with sea turtles.  There’s also a full-service spa.

Several hotels in Cancun are offering super-deals until April 30th —

  • Gran Melia Cancun — Receive 35% off the regular rate, plus $200 dollars in hotel coupon credits to use for meals, spa treatments, etc.
  • Gran Caribe Real Cancun — This family friendly all-inclusive resort is discounting rooms starting at $124 per person (double occupancy), with the first child under 12 free, and special rates for additional children and teens.
  • Villa del Palmar Cancun — Save up to 60%, with rates starting at $123 per person (double occupancy).  This is also an all-inclusive resort, which includes three meals a day plus selected liquors, cocktails, beers, and house wine.
  • Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Cancun Resort & Spa — Get $600 in hotel credits to use for spa treatments, an exclusive wine tasting, beach cabana rental, etc.  This discount deal is good through December 19, 2011, when the peak holiday travel season begins.

In case you didn’t already know — Cancun is Mexico’s top tourist destination.
