The luxury Grand Velas Resort in Riviera Maya/Maya Nayarit is offering a new “Billionaire’s Birthday Package” for a teen’s supersized coming-of-age celebration, complete with private jet roundtrip transportation from anywhere in the U.S., Mexico or Canada, and private concert by a top performing artist such as Maroon 5 or Pitbull. If that’s not enough, your spoiled brat and friends get a private check-in that includes edible gold popsicles and welcome bags with Apple’s must-have iWatch.
The birthday girl or boy and up to ten BFF are treated like royalty, or, like the rich and famous, with a three night stay in one of the luxury resort’s two-bedroom Presidential Suites complete with daily in-suite breakfast. And there’s room for up to 300 total invitees for a blowout bash on the beach that includes a personalized, professional sand sculpture to help celebrate the occasion.
Also included in the package is exclusive access to the resorts’ award-winning Spa for a “Gold Treatment,” a custom designer dress by Pineda Covalin – often called the “Hermes of Mexico,” – a skydive or flyboard experience for the party’s host and friends, fireworks show, DJ entertainment, and more.
The Grand Velas Riviera Maya has a program to “Rent Your Rock”, to wear jaw-dropping baubles for your wedding, engagement party or teen-tacular, just like real celebrities do for Red Carpet events such as the Oscars, Tonys and Grammys. The rent a rock program includes a stunning yellow canary diamond, radiant cut, with a center stone of nearly four carats and surrounded by 1.25 carats, all in white gold.
Everything from the décor to the party’s personalized catering is watched over by Celebrity Chef Mikel Alonso of Grand Velas’s signature Cocina de Autor restaurant, the only restaurant of an all-inclusive resort to receive the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award in 100 years of AAA. Along with his partner Bruno Oteiza, the two Spanish-born chefs opened the famous fine-dining restaurant Biko in Mexico City, and were trained under the famed Chef Arzak of Northern Spain.
Birthday bash beverages are served up by master mixologist Moisés Sierra Sáenz mixing up high-quality “mocktails” for the teens. Moisés represented Mexico at the World Class Bartender of the Year finals in 2013, and together with his affinity for using the best local flavors in a creative way, is well known in Mexico for his adventurous approach to drink making.
Grand Velas Riviera Maya is not just for the filthy rich. It’s an affordable all-inclusive, ideal for families or couples. I stayed there recently and was impressed by the service, amenities, the food, and the picture-postcard view of turquoise Caribbean water from my balcony. And I didn’t spend $2 Million on my visit.
