Air France Upgrades Fine Dining In-Flight

Air France in-flight meal

Air France wants passengers to eat well in-flight, and has hired 17 top chefs to promote French culinary excellence on board.

But it will cost you – the upgraded fine cuisine is only for passengers in La Première and Business and in airport lounges.

The 17 chefs will rotate, and are in addition to menus by Michelin-starred chefs.

Top French Chefs on the Air France Menu

Triple Michelin-starred chef Julien Royer creates meals in the La Première and Business cabins on departure from Singapore, where he operates two top restaurants.

On long-haul flights from Paris, French Michelin-starred chefs Arnaud Lallement, Régis Marcon, Anne-Sophie Pic, Emmanuel Renaut and Michel Roth will take turns to create exclusive dishes on the La Première and Business cabin menus.

On departure from Reunion Island, in the Business cabin, the menus are signed by chef Jofrane Dailly from Reunion Island, who works at the Diana Dea Lodge in Sainte-Anne.

Meilleur Ouvrier de France pastry chefs Philippe Urraca and Angelo Musa bring an elegant and sweet touch to the menus, also  worthy of the finest restaurants.

Chef Olivier Perret is in charge of Business Class meals on flights from Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Quebec and Vancouver). Originally from Burgundy, the chef also presides at the restaurant Le Renoir at the Sofitel Montréal Le Carré Doré. Air France intends to further develop its partnership with these exceptional signature chefs, notably on departure from the French Caribbean, USA and Japan.

Corporate chef François Adamski, a dual Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Bocuse d’Or winner, signs the lunch or dinner dishes served on board all year round in Business  Class.

Air France also collaborates with several chefs in its Paris airport lounges. At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Alain Ducasse teams hav created dishes for the Air France La Première lounge.

All the chefs are committed to showcasing the local produce of their regions in France and sharing their culinary heritage and passion.

On all flights from Paris, for all classes, and in lounges, Air France is  committed to offering 100 percent French meat, dairy produce and eggs, and fish  from sustainable fisheries.

A vegetarian option is available in all cabins and dishes are systematically labelled with Nutri-Score A or B certification in Economy and Premium Economy cabins. In addition, kids and infants’ menus are exclusively made from organically sourced products.

Air France also is the official partner of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or 2023 event, a world chef championship named for legendary French chef Paul Bocuse. The event is held in Lyon.

Eliminating Single Use Plastic

Air France is committed to recycling and eliminating 90 percent of single-use plastic on board its aircraft by end-March 2023.

The airline is using  plastic-free containers including paper cups, small dishes made from cellulose, serving dishes made of bagasse and Kraft paper “Bon Appétit” bags.

Air France’s environmental footprint is mainly linked to the CO2 emissions generated by its flight operations, to reduce its environmental footprint as much as possible.

The airline’s priority is to reduce these emissions as quickly as possible through fleet renewal, eco-piloting and the use of more sustainable fuels

The airline’s initiatives are grouped together under the Air France ACT label, which can be found at www.airfranceact.airfrance.com.
