Here’s your chance to win a free car and a free vacation, with these contests and sweepstakes from an auto manufacturer, an airline and an African country. Not surprisingly, all these contests involve following the company on social media, including Twitter and Facebook.
Win a 2011 Kia Optima by finding clues in Kia TV commercials, in print ads, and social media postings. Kia is posting questions and clues on the contest microsite One Epic Contest, with new clues and questions each day until the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 6th. The first question asks you what is the estimated MPG on the highway for the all-new Kia Optima Turbo. The final question is being revealed during the Super Bowl, within a Kia commercial for the new Optima. So if you aren’t planning to watch the game, you are out of the running for one of the five cars Kia is giving away.
Cathay Pacific, one of the top-rated international airlines, is giving away air tickets, hotel accommodations and a daily cash allowance for an 80 day trip anywhere in the world they fly. It is a Facebook contest called “Travel the world in 80 Days with Cathay Pacific Competition”. Long name, but Cathay is a long-distance airline. You have to submit a short video, photo or story on the Cathay Pacific fan page explaining how and where you would spend 80 days traveling around the world. Submit your entry by March 6th, 2011. Johannesburg? Moscow? Hong Kong? Beijing? Frankfurt? Milan? Vancouver? All of them?
Zambia needs a new advertising and marketing slogan to help put Zambia on the world-wide A-List of adventure and wildlife destinations. Rather than pay an advertising agency, the nation in central Africa is spending advertising and marketing dollars to run a public contest to create replace the existing slogan “Zambia – the Real Africa” with a new slogan that will appeal to a broad, global audience. The only rules are the slogan has to be in English, and should be short and snappy. Visit the Zambia Tourism site for contest rules, and enter by February 25th, 2011, for a chance to win a 15-day trip that includes a wildlife safari, a visit to Victoria Falls, and canoeing on the legendary Zambezi river.
