Plan your 2025 summer, fall and winter travel now, including these new routes between US cities and popular destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and South America, with more than 50 new flights a week.
The choices include such top domestic airlines as Delta, JetBlue and United, partners Air France and Finnair, and low-cost carriers such as Porter, Condor and Neos.
Many flights began in time for 2024 summer travel, demonstrating airline confidence in the economy, along with the growing demand for international travel over the peak summer travel season.
For 2025, United is adding eight new international destinations and as many as 800 flights a day, and launching Starlink service for enhanced in-flight connectivity.
Here are all the new flights – in alphabetical order, since that’s the only fair way. Domestic US airlines first, then international foreign-flag airlines.

Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines:
The recent merger is transforming Seattle into the West Coast’s new premier global gateway.
By 2030, Alaska/Hawaiian plans to serve at least 12 nonstop international destinations with widebody aircraft from Seattle.
Daily flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita begin on May 12,2025
Beginning Sept. 12, 2025, Alaska launches new nonstop service between Seattle and Seoul Incheon on Hawaiian Airlines, on long-haul, widebody Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The combined airline also is adding flights between Seattle and Rome.

Alaska’s new nonstop flights include routes between Anchorage and New York, Portland and Nashville, and San Diego to both Atlanta and Anchorage.
There also are new flights to new international locations like Guatemala City, The Bahamas, and Toronto, including from Seattle.
Increased flight frequencies in major hubs: 16% more in Portland, 10% in Seattle, 23% in San Diego, and 13% in Anchorage. In fall 2024, flights to and from Los Angeles (LAX) increased by 33%.

American Airlines: More Flights to Caribbean, Australia, Europe
These new routes launched at the end of 2024 –
- NYC-Bridgeton, Barbados – Daily service
- NYC-St. Lucia– Saturday only service
- Phoenix-Cancun – Increases from one to two daily nonstop flights.
- Phoenix-Puerto Vallarta – Service increases to three daily nonstop flights.
American also is adding more flights to Australia
- Non-stop between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Brisbane (a 16-hour flight). The route is five times per week, but ramps up to daily flights December through March, for the peak summer season “down under”.
Starting Summer 2025, there’s new service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and increased daily flights to London Heathrow (LHR). This expansion aims to position Miami as a key international travel hub to Europe, not just to the Caribbean and Latin America.
Charlotte (CLT)
- New Daily Route to Athens (CLT–ATH) – Launching June 5, 2025, this marks a significant addition to Charlotte’s international network.
- Charlotte–London Heathrow (CLT–LHR): – Three daily flights
Chicago O’Hare (ORD)
- Dublin (ORD–DUB): Seasonal operation from June 5 to October 5, 2025.
- Barcelona (ORD–BCN): Service extended until October 24, 2025
- Madrid (ORD–MAD) begins March 30, 2025, with a daily Boeing 787-8 service.
- Naples (ORD–NAP) starts May 6, 2025.
- Paris (ORD–CDG): Seasonal service now runs from May 4 to September 2, 2025.
Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)
- Venice (DFW–VCE) launches June 5 and operates until September 1, 2025.
- London Heathrow (DFW–LHR) increases from four to five daily flights.
Los Angeles (LAX)
- London Heathrow (LAX–LHR): Maintains two daily flights
- Tokyo Haneda (LAX–HND): Both daily flights transition to Boeing 787-9 aircraft starting June 5, 2025.
Miami (MIA)
- London Heathrow (MIA–LHR): Doubles to two daily flights using 777-300ER aircraft.
- Rome Fiumicino (MIA–FCO): Seasonal service starts earlier, from June 5 to September 1, 2025.
- Paris Charles de Gaulle (MIA–CDG) will pause between August 5 and October 5, 2025.
- Miami-Turks & Caicos – Starting Feb. 15, 2025, twice weekly flights
New York JFK (JFK)
- Athens (JFK–ATH): Operates from May 5 to September 1, 2025, using a Boeing 777-200ER.
- Rome (JFK–FCO): Transitions to a Boeing 787-9 in July before switching to a 787-8 in October.
Philadelphia (PHL)
- Philadelphia-Liberia, Costa Rica – Saturday service
- Naples (PHL–NAP): Begins May 5, 2025
- Rome Fiumicino (PHL–FCO): Doubles to two daily flights during peak summer months.
- Athens (PHL–ATH) runs for the full 2025 summer season.
Starting December 19, 2025, there’s a new connection for skiers – its Charlotte hub (CLT) and Aspen, Colorado (ASE), starting December 19, 2025.
Additionally, two new domestic routes will launch in October: Los Angeles (LAX) to Des Moines, Iowa (DSM) and Phoenix (PHX) to Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT), both of which were previously suspended in 2021. Avelo Airlines – First International Routes
The budget airline marks a major milestone by launching its first international routes.
One connects Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut and Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The other is to Cancun, Mexico (CUN).
Avelo also is introducing six new routes at BDL: North Carolina’s Charlotte / Concord (USA) and Wilmington (ILM), Florida’s Daytona Beach (DAB) and Orlando / Lakeland (LAL), Houston via Hobby (HOU).
Also, starting June 11, 2025, Avelo is adding new non-stop service between Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), with flights twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
All the new international routes are twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
- Update – Avelo has contracted with the Department of Homeland Security ICE division to fly detained immigrants to detention centers in the US and also overseas, and is facing a boycott for accepting the $151 million contract

Delta Air Lines: More Flights to Dublin, Munich, Taipei, Antigua/Barbuda
Delta has resumed and expanded service to Dublin with new direct flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul. This route is served five times a week by Boeing 767-300s.
Experience the scenic Bavarian countryside with a new route to Munich, adding to services from Atlanta and Detroit, along with JFK.
- Personal experience note – My Delta flight in June 2024 to and from Munich wasn’t on Delta because Delta booked me outbound on partner KLM, through Amsterdam, and back on partner Air France, through Paris. It was not my choice, it was Delta’s, which didn’t inform me until shortly before departure, and I had no choice except cancel or change my flights, fora whopping additional cost.
- Now I’m having a problem getting my Delta miles, since I was not on Delta, but on KLM and Air France.
As the top U.S. airline to Italy, Delta is introducing new routes to Naples and Catania, Sicily from JFK on May 23, alongside existing services to Milan, Venice, and Rome.
The airline also just announced its largest-ever summer schedule, with new routes between Europe and multiple US airports. The map explains –

Delta also is introducing a new daily route between Seattle/Tacoma and Tapei, Taiwan.
Starting June 1, 2025, Delta resumes its Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai Pu Dong (PVG) route, which was suspended during the pandemic. The Los Angeles-Shanghai route is expected to operate three times weekly, pending government approval, and will be served by Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Starting November 19, 2025, Delta significantly expands its service to Buenos Aires with a second daily frequency between Atlanta and the Argentine capital:
- Three weekly flights from November 19 to December 9
- Daily service during peak summer season (December 10 to January 18, 2026)
- Return to three weekly flights from January 19 to March 28, 2026

Frontier Airlines
The discount carrier is adding nine new destinations from Atlanta, the busiest airport in the country, beginning in late May and early June, including three flights weekly to San Pedro Sula (SAP) in Honduras.
San Pedro Sula is Honduras’ main transportation hub in the northwest of the country, serving as a gateway to places like Copan with its Mayan archaeological site, the beaches of Tela on the Caribbean coast, and Roatan, which is known for its scuba diving around the Mesoamerican Reef.
Frontier will also begin flights to Aruba (AUA) weekly from Atlanta after a pause in that route.
On the domestic front, there are new routes connecting Atlanta to Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Ft. Myers, St. Louis, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, and Columbus, Ohio.

Hawaiian Airlines
Now owned and operated by Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian has resumed seasonal flights between Hawaii and New Zealand, also known as Aotearoa, its Maori name. It’s an eight-hour, 4,000 mile journey across the Pacific.
The flights use an Airbus A330-200, a flagship aircraft for the airline, and will operate three times a week through April 30, 2025.
- From Honolulu (HA445): Departs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 1:05 PM, arriving in Auckland at 9:20 PM the next day.
- From Auckland (HA446): Departs Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11:30 PM, arriving in Honolulu at 9:15 AM the same day.
The early morning arrival in Honolulu allows passengers to connect to Hawaiian’s Neighbor Island destinations or explore O’ahu with a full day ahead.
For the first time, Hawaiian Airlines is offering passengers complimentary high-speed Starlink WiFi onboard. Enabled by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, this cutting-edge service allows passengers to stay connected throughout their journey.
Hawaiian Airlines joins an elite group of carriers—including JetBlue, Qatar Airways, and Air France—offering Starlink WiFi, allowing passengers to browse, stream, or work seamlessly during the long Pacific crossing.

JetBlue: New Routes to Caribbean, South America
JetBlue has introduced a daily Mint service from JFK to San Juan. The Mint offers lie-flat seats and upscale dining options, although it is not clear why anybody needs lie-flat seats on a four-hour flight.
Starting October 2024, JetBlue increased service to Puerto Rico, with six new routes to San Juan. They are Providence, RI; Westchester County, NY; Santiago, Dominican Republic; Medellin, Colombia; and Cancun, Mexico, with varying frequencies.

Spirit Airlines: New Domestic and International Routes
Spirit is doubling-down on service from San Antonio, including a new international flight to San Juan.

Southwest Airlines: New Routes to Hawaii
Beginning March 2025, it will offer daily flights from Sacramento to two popular Hawaiian destinations: Maui and Kona.
While these routes will operate daily in March, June, and July, the service to Maui will be limited to weekends in April and May. The move comes after Southwest’s success with its daily service to Honolulu.
Beginning June 2025, the airline also will introduce a daily redeye flight to Baltimore starting in March and another daily flight to Orlando.
Southwest Airlines also has launched a new transcontinental route from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to Las Vegas (LAS).

United Airlines: New Destinations and Additional Flights
UPDATE – United Airlines is warning passengers to avoid flying into or out of Newark Airport because of ongoing cancellations and delays due to an out-of-service runway and repeated outages of the air controller radar system.
United, which claims to be the largest airline in the world, is adding eight new destinations and some 800 additional flights for summer 2025 travel.
Starting May 2024, the airline added a new daily seasonal transatlantic route from Chicago to Athens, with Boeing 787-8s, reflecting the increasing demand for travel to Greece.
For Summer 2025, new routes include Greenland, Spain, Italy.
United Airlines also is launching Starlink – the world’s fastest, most reliable connectivity in the sky.
The airline now expects to begin testing Starlink in February on its regional Embraer E-175 aircraft. Ultimately, United will add Starlink to its entire fleet.
Access will be free for all MileagePlus customers and includes game-changing inflight entertainment experiences like streaming services, shopping, gaming and more.

New Routes – International Flag Airlines
Air Canada – Additional Service to USA, Europe
Starting May 2025, Air Canada returns to Baltimore with daily Bombardier CRJ900 flights from Toronto, and is increasing service from Toronto, Indianapolis, Boston, Tampa and Dallas-Fort Worth.
There’s also new routes between Vancouver-Nashville and Montreal-Cincinnati
Starting March 2025, there’s new service from Toronto and Montreal to popular European destinations including Paris, Prague, Stockholm and Madrid
The airline continues to operate flights to two other nearby airports, Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
Air France: Nonstop Between Paris and Phoenix
Starting May 2024, Air France introduced nonstop service between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Phoenix, marking the first direct flight between France and Phoenix.
The flight operates three times a week, using the modern Boeing 787-9.
The new route is hoped to boost business and tourism that could inject $30 million annually into the local economies, and a timely addition for with the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in July.

Caribbean Airlines: More Caribbean Flights from Miami
The Caribbean-specific airline announces the addition of more flights between Trinidad and Miami, starting June 19.
The new services will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, offering customers more options for their weekend getaways.

Condor Airlines: New Routes to Frankfurt
The low cost carrier famous for its brightly-colored planes is adding a new nonstops between San Antonio and Baltimore/Washington to Frankfurt, three times a week each.
For 2024, the San Antonio route is seasonal service only, between mid-May and mid-September, but if it’s successful it might be expanded to year-round service.
Condor also is adding a new route betweenBaltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Frankfurt, each Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, on the new A330neo, which replaces the older Boeing 767 models.
Revamped Business Class offers 30 lie-flat seats, arranged in a 1-2-1 layout ensuring direct aisle access. Each seat transforms into a 76 by 19-inch bed, equipped with a 17.3-inch 4K touchscreen, remote control, and access to a wide range of entertainment options.
The front row includes four “Prime Seats,” which are spacious enough for two diners and feature a 24-inch screen, premium in-flight amenities, travel kits, pajamas, and a snack basket.
Finnair: Enhanced Routes to Chicago and Dallas
Starting summer 2025, the airline plans to operate daily flights from Helsinki to Chicago, a major hub that connects Finnair with numerous North American destinations.
Finnair is set to double service to Dallas by offering up to 11 flights per week.
Seattle and Los Angeles will also see an increase in service, with both cities receiving two additional weekly flights.
Icelandair: New Route Between Reykjavik and Pittsburgh
Starting May 2024, Icelandair launches a new route between from Reykjavik to Pittsburgh.
Using Boeing 737-8s, this service runs four times per week and reestablishes a connection previously served by WOW Air, the budget airline which declared bankruptcy in 2019 and now flies under the name PLAY.

Neos: New Route Between NYC and Sicily
Starting June 2024, this lesser-known airline is flying three three times a week between NYC JFK and Palermo, Sicily.
There are two weekly flights to Sicily – one each on Monday and Saturday – and two return flights each Sunday.
Neos flies one of the latest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with efficient engine technology that lessens carbon output.

Norse Atlantic Airways: New Flights to Athens and Paris
In May 2024, Norse Atlantic Airways launched new services from Athens to New York JFK and from Paris CDG to Los Angeles, to service passengers attending the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, and is continuing the schedule for 2025.
New Airline Routes from Canada

Porter Airlines
Porter Airlines (PD) is expanding its network in the New York metropolitan area with a new direct route between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Starting June 1, 2025, the airline will operate one daily roundtrip flight, increasing to twice daily during peak summer months, using regional 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, featuring premium in-flight amenities.
Last year, Porter doubled on two other key routes, adding additional flights between Toronto and Las Vegas and additional flights between Toronto and Los Angeles.
Both routes will be served by the brand-new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. This 132-seat plane features 2-by-2 seating, eliminating middle seats for all passengers, and offers fast and free WiFi for everyone.
WestJet
In May 2024, WestJet launched its first-ever route to Seoul from Calgary.
Operating three times a week with the Boeing 787-9, this route becomes WestJet’s second Asia-Pacific destination and positions it as the sole operator from Calgary to Seoul.
Other Notable New Airlines & Routes
Air Premia: The South Korean carrier starts services from Seoul to San Francisco, competing with Asiana Airlines, Korean Air, and United Airlines. This expands Air Premia’s U.S. presence and acknowledges the growing demand for transpacific travel.
China Airlines: Joins other Chinese airlines in expanding into the Saudi market, with new flights between Beijing and Riyadh.
