Memorial Day Weekend Freebies and Deals 2018

A number of national restaurant chains and even home improvement businesses are offering discounts and freebies over the Memorial Day weekend.

Some of the deals are only for military personnel or veterans, but most are available to anyone, and many of the deals are for the entire Memorial Day weekend, not just on Monday, May 28th.

Deals for active and retired military require a military ID.

Here’s our list, in alphabetical order, because that’s the only fair way.

Ace Hardware: Ace Hardware pledges to give away 1 million free 8″ x 12″ American flags this Memorial Day. A second flag is donated to a local VFW Post to be used mark the graves of those who once served. No purchase necessary, while supplies last.

A Story Before Bed : This offer is available year round for military parents. Members of one of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces who are deploying or already deployed are eligible to sign up for free recordings from A Story Before Bed.

Blue Star Museums: Participating museums across the country offer FREE admission for active duty military families from Monday, May 28 through Labor Day, September 3.

Boston Market:  Use the link to download a coupon to get one whole rotisserie chicken, half rack of ribs, four sides and four cornbread servings for $29.99. The coupon is required and is valid  May 25 to May 28, 2018 only.

Dairy Queen: Mix or match two medium dipped cones or medium sundaes for $4 after 8 pm.

Einstein Bagels : From Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28, guests who present proof of local residence at participating locations will receive a buy-one, get-one offer on the company’s new Flavors Across America menu. The offer will return during Fourth of July week and Labor Day weekend.

Fogo de Chao : Military veterans and active duty personnel get 50% off their meal on Monday, May 28. Accompanying diners (up to 3) will receive 10% off their meals. Present your military ID to get this offer. Fogo de Chao offers a 10% discount for military personnel at any time.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill : Dine with a veteran or active duty military service member on Monday, May 28, and their meal is free.

Food Lion : Military personnel receive 10% off your purchase on Monday, May 28.

Ford: Ford offers a special discount on Ford cars, SUVs, crossovers and trucks for customers who are military and first responders. This offer is valid at any time, year-round. Enter your zip code to find the nearest Ford dealer and learn details.

Hooter’s : Active military and veterans eat FREE on Memorial Day, May 28. Present your military ID. Call your local participating Hooter’s restaurant for details.

LaMar’s Donuts : Active or retired service men or women receive a free donut and coffee on Monday, May 28.

Long John Silver’s: Clip these coupons for $2 off any variety platter and a free deep-fried Twinkie with platter purchase. The individual coupons state they cannot be used in combination with other discounts. The coupons are valid until May 27.

Marie Callender’s : Receive a free slice of pie with the purchase of an entree on Monday, May 28. . Certain desserts are excluded from this offer.

McCormick and Schmick’s : Military personnel, including Gold Star honorees, veterans and National Guard, get a FREE entree on Monday, May 28.

Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub : Present your proof of service on Monday May 28. Purchase a meal and receive a free entree from 9 Real Size Entrees for $9.99 menu.

Outback Steakhouse: Service men and women, police officers, and firefighters receive 20% off their meals from May 24 through May 28, 2018. You must show valid ID. Outback also offers a 10% discount to military, police and firefighters all day, every day of the year.

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery : On any Monday from 11 am to 9 pm, enjoy a free slice of pie with purchase of an entree. Valid only at participating locations. Restrictions apply.

Red Lobster: Pick three of nine shrimp dishes to create your own Shrimp Trio for $15.99. Offer ends May 27.

Sherwin-Williams : Military and veterans will receive an additional 10% off paints and stains during the month of May. The offer is good in the US and Canada.  Click this link for details.

SweetFrog : Present your military ID to receive 20% off FROYO on Monday, May 28.

Texas de Brazil : Active duty military and veterans receive 50% off their lunch or dinner on Monday, May 28. Additional accompanying diners (up to 7) will also receive 20% of their dinner or lunch.
